Marvel and Sony have already begun the casting process for their upcoming solo Spider-Man reboot. Deadline is reporting that actress, Zendaya joins Tom Holland as Peter Parker and Marisa Tomei as his Aunt May.
Deadline reports that Zendaya is playing ‘Michelle’, but don’t provide any further details. Could this be Michele Gonzales? A character from the 2009 Mark Waid run of Spider-Man?
The movies have thus far stuck with Mary Jane Watson and Gwen Stacy as love interests for Peter, but it could be that these new films will shake up the formula by incorporating Michele Gonzales, there’s also the possibility that this could be Betty Brant as well.
Jon Watts will direct the Spider-Man reboot which is set for release on July 7, 2017.
